Irish Song of the Year Contenders

Recently announced on RTÉ 2FM's Tracy Clifford Show, the nominees for Irish Song of the Year span a variety of artists, both established and emerging. Public voting is now open for this category and will continue until midnight on February 18. The winner will be revealed during a special radio event on March 7, hosted by Tracy Clifford on 2FM, just before the main live ceremony.

Albums, Artists, and Breakthroughs in the Spotlight

The shortlists for other notable categories, including Irish Album of the Year, Irish Artist of the Year, and Breakthrough Irish Artist of the Year, were previously released. An esteemed panel of music industry professionals and media figures will deliberate to decide the winners, with the victor of the Album of the Year securing a €10,000 prize. All nominated musicians are set to receive specially designed awards, with the final winners announcement slotted for March 7 at a live event in Vicar Street.

Celebrating Classics

In February, the RTÉ Choice Music Prize will also name the recipient of the Classic Irish Album award, marking an album's lasting influence over the past 25 years. Last year's laureate was Sinéad O'Connor for her remarkable record "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got." Adam Fogarty, Head of Music at RTÉ 2FM, expressed delight at continuing the station's association with the awards, highlighting the event's role in emphasizing Ireland's dynamic musical heritage and future.
