SZA Tops the 2023 Soul Train Awards Followed by Usher and Victoria Monét

The 2023 Soul Train Awards, hosted by Keke Palmer, celebrated the best in soul, R&B, and hip-hop, with SZA emerging as the victor of the night. She clinched the most accolades, including top honors for Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, Album of the Year for her work on SOS, Song of the Year, and The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award for her hit 'Snooze'.

R&B sensation Usher also had a successful evening, securing three awards. He was named Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, received the Certified Soul Award, and celebrated a win for Best Collaboration with Summer Walker and 21 Savage on 'Good Good.' Victoria Monét demonstrated her powerful presence in the industry with two wins, earning awards for Best Dance Performance and Video of the Year for 'On My Mama'.

Beyond individual awards, the night was also significant for honors bestowed upon icons such as Janelle Monáe, who received the Spirit of Soul Award, and T-Pain, who was celebrated with the Legend Award. Fans enjoyed performances by a string of talented artists including BJ the Chicago Kid, Coco Jones, Danté Bowe, and more, with Palmer delivering not just as host but also taking to the stage for a musical performance.
