Metallica's Epic Mexico City Show Comes to Apple Vision Pro
Metallica is set to deliver their incredible performance from Mexico City directly to enthusiastic fans, thanks to Apple. The tech giant announced on Tuesday that the band's concert will be available as an immersive experience on the Apple Vision Pro video headset this Friday.
This electrifying performance will include some of Metallica's most beloved songs, such as “Whiplash,” “One,” and “Enter Sandman.” Filmed during the grand finale of their sold-out M72 World Tour last year, the concert aims to bring fans closer than ever to the band, featuring high-resolution, 180-degree video alongside immersive spatial audio.
According to Tor Myhren, Vice President of Marketing Communications at Apple, "With Metallica on Apple Vision Pro, you feel like you’re right there: front row, backstage, and even on stage with one of the biggest bands of all time." This concert experience is designed to make viewers feel a part of the action.
Apple has created a custom stage layout that incorporates 14 unique immersive video cameras, some of which will move around the stage, enhancing the viewing experience further.
For those who do not own the $3,500 headset, there is no need to worry. Apple allows customers to book a Vision Pro demo at their local Apple store to enjoy Metallica's performance.
Metallica is not the only artist to have their performance showcased through the Vision Pro. Other notable performances include those by Alicia Keys and Raye, as well as The Weeknd, who offered an immersive experience called “The Weeknd: Open Hearts.”
