BeachLife Festival: A Cultural, Gastronomic, and Musical Celebration on Redondo Beach

Published April 30, 2024

BeachLife Festival is set to celebrate a mix of classic rock, reggae, alternative music, and high-end cuisine right on the sandy shores this weekend. Uniting food enthusiasts, art lovers, and music fans, the festival takes place at Redondo Beach's Seaside Lagoon from May 3 to May 5, presenting a vibrant lineup of over 40 performers across four stages.

The headliners for the festival include iconic artists such as Sting, Incubus, and My Morning Jacket. They will be sharing the stage with names like Devo, ZZ Top, Seal, and many talented local acts. With Orange County's Local Natives, Dirty Heads, and Sugar Ray also set to perform, the festival anticipates a mix of beach classics and contemporary hits that epitomize the coastal vibe.

Founder Allen Sanford expresses particular excitement for Sting's performance, marking it as a significant milestone for the festival. This year's event also welcomes a luxurious gastronomic experience with the return of the DAOU SideStage, where celebrity chefs will serve up multicourse meals next to the main stage.

Daily Highlights

The three-day schedule is packed with distinctive highlights. Day one opens with Sting, joined by Seal, Dirty Heads, and others, setting an eclectic tone for the festival. Sanford finds the link between Sting's reggae influence and the beach's surf culture to be the quintessential representation of the event's spirit.

Saturday brings a day of non-stop hits with Incubus headlining, accompanied by new wave icons Devo, and focuses more on the overarching cultural and community vibe. Sunday, expected to cater to the devout music fans, features powerhouse acts like ZZ Top and My Morning Jacket, along with distinctive performances from the likes of Trey Anastasio and a variety of Latin artists, offering a new musical dimension.

Additional Festival Features

This year, BeachLife adds a new twist by incorporating DJs into its Speakeasy Stage for the first time, featuring renowned names like Mix Master Mike from the Beastie Boys and legendary DJ Paul Oakenfold. These sets offer a different pace and style for festival-goers seeking to groove to a different beat after the sun sets.

BeachLife is also revamping the DAOU SideStage Experience, which will now be located at the Lowtide Stage with a breathtaking view of the ocean sunset. Top chefs like Ian Gresik, Nyesha Arrington, and David Slay, will be orchestrating the culinary delights across the three days, making it an exclusive experience unlike any other festival offering.
