Oscars 2025 Live: When and How to Tune In as Hollywood Prepares for Biggest Night of the Year
The 2025 Academy Awards are fast approaching, set to honor the best films and performances from the past year. This much-anticipated event will take place this Sunday, with Conan O'Brien stepping in as host, taking over from longtime host Jimmy Kimmel.
The nominees for this year were revealed in January, with Netflix’s musical Emilia Pérez leading the nominations with a record-breaking 13 nods for a non-English-language film. Following closely behind are The Brutalist and Wicked, which received 10 nominations each. Both A Complete Unknown and Conclave each earned eight nominations.
In the acting categories, some of the standout nominees include Demi Moore for her role in The Substance, Timothée Chalamet for his performance in A Complete Unknown, Kieran Culkin for A Real Pain, and Ariana Grande for Wicked.
Notable presence at the ceremony will also include the star of Emilia Pérez, Karla Sofía Gascón, who returns after a brief hiatus from the awards circuit due to a controversy concerning a racially insensitive tweet.
Furthermore, a tribute is expected to be paid to film legend Gene Hackman, whose recent passing at the age of 95 is currently being investigated under suspicious circumstances.
Live updates will be available from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, as the excitement builds.
