Cruel World Festival 2024 to Feature Iconic Bands in Pasadena

Published December 4, 2023

The anticipated return of Goldenvoice’s Cruel World Festival is slated for May 11, at Brookside next to the iconic Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Fans of new-wave and post-punk music will be treated to a star-studded lineup that includes legendary bands such as Duran Duran, Interpol, Blondie, and Simple Minds, in addition to other notable acts like Placebo, Soft Cell, and Adam Ant.

Duran Duran, the hall of fame British new-wave group, will be performing fresh off the release of their 16th studio album, 'Danse Macabre'. The album, which dropped in October, showcases new songs, cover versions, and refreshed classics - hinting at what fans might expect from their live performance.

Passes Go on Sale

Eager fans are now able to sign up for a chance to secure their passes, which will officially be available for purchase from noon on Friday, December 8. Interested parties should act quickly to visit cruelworldfest.com for their chance to snag a ticket, with the option of a payment plan requiring only a $49.99 initial down payment.

Additional Acts to Look Forward To

The festival's lineup further includes influential artists like Ministry, who will play tracks from 'With Sympathy' and 'Twitch', and Gary Numan, set to perform his influential debut solo record, 'The Pleasure Principle'. Joining them will be the supergroup Dreamcar, composed of members from AFI and No Doubt, who are poised to deliver their unique take on the new-wave genre.

Last year's Cruel World festivities were cut short due to extreme weather conditions, leaving performances from artists like Siouxsie, Iggy Pop, and Gary Numan postponed. Those acts have been confirmed to return and perform for fans at a later date, to the delight of many.
