Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars Honor LA Wildfire Victims at 2025 Grammys
At the 2025 Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars delivered a heartfelt rendition of 'California Dreamin'' to pay tribute to those impacted by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. The performance was a response to a poignant video shown during the ceremony, highlighting the devastating effects of the fires on the local community.
The duo, who were also nominated for Song Of The Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their collaboration 'Die With A Smile', took center stage after the emotional presentation. Their stripped-back cover of the classic song by The Mamas & The Papas echoed the sentiments of resilience and hope within the Los Angeles area.
Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. had previously announced that despite the destruction the city faced, the Grammy ceremony would continue as planned and serve as a fundraising event for relief efforts.
During the awards, Gaga accepted the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award for 'Die With A Smile' and used the opportunity to voice her support for the trans community. She stated, “I just want to say tonight that trans people are not invisible. Trans people deserve love. The queer community deserves to be lifted up. Music is love. Thank you.” Her words resonated with many, underscoring the importance of acceptance and visibility for all marginalized communities.
Earlier in the evening, Lady Gaga also premiered the music video for her upcoming single 'Abracadabra' during an ad break at the ceremony, generating excitement among her fans.
Gaga is preparing to release her highly anticipated seventh studio album, 'Mayhem', on March 7, which is currently available for pre-order.
Other highlights from the night included Beyoncé winning Album Of The Year for 'Cowboy Carter', marking her first win in this category. Kendrick Lamar emerged as the biggest winner of the night, taking home five awards, including Record of The Year and Song Of The Year for 'Not Like Us', which also won Best Music Video.
