Fortnite Extends Big Bang Event with Additional Shows

Published December 2, 2023

Fans of the popular video game Fortnite faced a hurdle when trying to participate in the latest in-game live event, The Big Bang, as they were met with unexpectedly long queue times. Many were concerned about missing out on the interactive experience that took place on Saturday evening. The event gained notable attention as it featured a virtual Eminem concert, the first significant event of its kind to occur in the game since the previous year.

Additional Opportunities for Fans

In response to the queuing issues, Epic Games, the developer behind Fortnite, made a decision to increase the chances for fans to attend the event by scheduling two additional shows. This move was welcomed by the community as it offered more flexibility to experience the immersive concert.

Advice for Participating in The Big Bang Event

With a high demand to be part of the Big Bang event, Epic Games recommended that players log into the game about 30 minutes before showtime. This would allow them enough time to equip their avatars with the Fortnite Eminem skin and related accessories to enhance their concert experience. Despite this advice, the initial show saw fans stuck in queues, leading to frustration.

Addressing the situation, Epic Games announced on their social platform that they would be adding two more show times following the early show at 2pm ET. They reassured players that no one would miss out, whether they were waiting in the lobby or stuck in the queue. The subsequent shows were scheduled to take place later in the evening, starting at around 7.15pm and 7.45pm GMT for the second and third events, respectively.
