Beyoncé has honored the memory of the late R&B singer Angie Stone, who sadly passed away in a car crash at the age of 63 on March 1. This tragic accident claimed her life as she was the only person involved.

In response to the heartbreaking news, Beyoncé took to her website to pay tribute to Angie Stone. In her heartfelt message, she expressed gratitude, writing, “Thank you for your voice, your strength, and your artistry.”

Continuing her tribute, Beyoncé stated, “Your incredible legacy will live on forever. Rest in peace, Angie Stone.” This tribute reflects the deep impact Stone had on the music world.

Angie Stone was a celebrated artist in the R&B genre and garnered three Grammy nominations throughout her prolific career. She collaborated with numerous well-known artists, including D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Snoop Dogg, and Alicia Keys.

Stone started her journey in music as a member of The Sequence, which was the first female rap group signed to Sugar Hill Records. The group produced successful songs like ‘Monster Jam’ and ‘Funk You Up’, the latter being sampled in the popular track ‘Uptown Funk’ by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.

After The Sequence dissolved, she became a part of the group Vertical Hold, while also establishing herself as a talented songwriter and backing vocalist. Notably, she contributed to D’Angelo’s acclaimed neo-soul albums ‘Brown Sugar’ and ‘Voodoo’.

Angie Stone launched her solo career in the late 1990s with her debut album, ‘Black Diamond,’ released in 1999. The album featured hits like ‘Wish I Didn’t Miss You’, ‘Brotha’, and ‘No More Rain (In This Cloud)’. Additionally, her duet with Prince in 2001, ‘U Make My Sun Shine’, became another landmark hit.

She continued her success with further albums including ‘Stone Love’ in 2004 and ‘The Art Of Love & War’ in 2007, with her latest album, ‘Love Language’, being released in 2023. Beyond music, Angie Stone also ventured into acting with roles in movies such as The Hot Chick and The Fighting Temptations, and appeared in reality TV shows like Celebrity Fit Club and R&B Divas: Atlanta.
