Ezra Mandira Remembers Last Moments with His Mother Dina Mariana

Ezra Mandira Sugandi, former member of the musical group HIVI!, reflects on the precious moments spent with his mother, the legendary child artist Dina Mariana, prior to her passing.

He shared that he dedicated a significant amount of time to be with his mother during her final days.

"Before she passed away, we spent a lot of time together at home, enjoying our moments as a family," Ezra stated.

He recounted that after undergoing various medical treatments, he always made it a point to gather with his beloved mother and extended family.

"After every treatment session, we would make an effort to connect, share conversations, and uplift each other," he added.

Dina Mariana was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2021. After surgery, she was declared cancer-free in 2022. However, in 2023, the illness unfortunately resurfaced in her abdominal wall.

Ezra mentioned that the cancer was quite aggressive, necessitating regular hospital visits for treatment.

As her condition worsened, there were complications such as gastrointestinal bleeding, further deteriorating her health.

"What really affected her was the bleeding in her digestive organs, which caused significant health issues," Ezra explained.

Dina Mariana is remembered as an icon of children’s music in Indonesia, paired with notable figures like Adi Bing Slamet and Ira Maya Sopha. She gained immense popularity in the late 1980s with her song Ingat Kamu.

Besides her singing career, Dina Mariana was also involved in acting, having released 35 albums and appeared in 21 feature films and several television series during her lifetime.
