Billie Eilish's Amazed Reaction to Doechii's Grammys 2025 Performance
Billie Eilish was one of many stars who praised Doechii's performance at the Grammys 2025 held in Los Angeles last night (February 2).
The talented rapper took home the prestigious Best Rap Album award for her mixtape, ‘Alligator Bites Never Heal’, surpassing notable contenders like Eminem, J. Cole, and Future. With this achievement, Doechii became the third female artist ever to win this award, joining the ranks of legends Lauryn Hill and Cardi B.
Her live performance became one of the standout moments of the evening. As Doechii delivered her set, the audience erupted into a standing ovation, with notable figures such as Jay-Z, SZA, and Billie Eilish showing their enthusiasm. Eilish's reaction was especially memorable; when the camera focused on her, she exclaimed, “Oh my God!” in awe of the performance.
During the show, Doechii performed two songs: ‘Catfish’ and ‘Denial Is A River’. The performance of ‘Catfish’ featured stunning visuals, with Doechii rapping against a massive backlit fan while gray-clad dancers moved energetically around her. Following this spectacle, she brought the performance down to ground level for ‘Denial Is A River’, which was staged with a creative treadmill setup.

In other highlights from the night, Taylor Swift was seen enthusiastically dancing to Billie Eilish’s live rendition of ‘Birds Of A Feather’. Eilish performed alongside her brother, Finneas, with their set adorned by a backdrop showcasing the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles, along with nostalgic childhood photos of the duo.
Returning as host for the fifth consecutive year, comedian Trevor Noah facilitated the event smoothly. Meanwhile, the highly coveted Album of the Year award went to Beyoncé, marking her first win in this category for her album ‘Cowboy Carter’.
Kendrick Lamar was the star of the night, securing a total of five awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video.
Additionally, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars paid tribute to Los Angeles during their touching performance, and the ceremony also raised funds to assist those affected by recent fires. Shakira dedicated her award to her “immigrant brothers and sisters”, adding a heartfelt sentiment to the event.
