Justin Timberlake Cancels Show, Fans Disappointed

Published February 28, 2025

Justin Timberlake has left his fans feeling upset and frustrated after he canceled the last show of his US tour just moments before it was set to begin. The talented singer, known for hits such as "Cry Me A River" and "SexyBack," was scheduled to perform at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday night.

Shortly before the concert was supposed to start, Timberlake took to Instagram to announce that he was forced to cancel the performance due to the flu. In his heartfelt message, he expressed, ‘You guys, I’m heartbroken, I have to cancel the show tonight.’ He admitted to battling the flu during soundcheck and mentioned that it had gotten the best of him.

Timberlake reassured his fans that they would receive refunds for their tickets and expressed his sorrow for disappointing them and his team who had worked hard to organize the show.

History of Cancellations

This cancellation comes just four months after Timberlake had to cancel another concert at the same venue due to issues with laryngitis and bronchitis. Fans voiced their disappointment over the timing of this latest announcement, with many taking to social media.

One fan expressed, ‘Canceling because of being sick is 100% understandable... Canceling 10 minutes before the doors were to open is unacceptable.’ Another fan commented on the disappointment of families, including young children, who were excited to attend the concert.

Others shared their frustration about traveling long distances for the concert, stating, ‘This is literally the 2nd time this has happened and there’s not even a reschedule. We drove 3 hours and paid for a hotel room to find out it’s canceled.’

Support and Understanding from Some Fans

Despite the anger from many fans, some came out in defense of Timberlake, acknowledging that health should come first. One supporter said, ‘For all you weirdos in the comments getting mad at him, understand that these decisions are not made lightly.’ Another fan wrote from California, ‘I flew in from CA but you know what… your health comes first. True fans know that.’

Ticketmaster, which had been selling tickets up until the announcement, confirmed that refunds would be processed for those affected by the cancellation. Many fans are left hoping for a future rescheduling, recalling their excitement for Timberlake's performances during this tour.
