Autopsy Conducted on Late Singer Wheesung; Funeral Begins Friday
Singer-songwriter Wheesung, whose music touched many hearts, was found dead at his home in Seoul on Monday. His family announced that a three-day funeral service will start on Friday.
On the day he was discovered, police reported that there were no apparent signs of foul play. The National Forensic Service (NFS) carried out an autopsy to find out the cause of his unexpected death. The initial findings from the NFS indicate that the exact cause of death remains unknown.
Authorities are investigating further and are trying to determine if Wheesung left any notes. Reports suggest that at least one syringe was found near him at the time he was discovered. This raises questions about his mental and physical state leading up to his passing.
Wheesung had faced challenges in the past, including a suspended sentence in 2021 for propofol abuse, which may have impacted his well-being.
Initially, the funeral was planned to be a private affair due to concerns for his mother’s health. However, his agency, Tajoy Entertainment, later decided to open the service to the public, allowing fans and loved ones to pay their respects and share in the mourning.
Wheesung's brother shared a heartfelt message, remembering him as someone who endured profound feelings of loneliness. He emphasized that Wheesung lived intensely, seeking solace through his music. He urged fans to come visit the mortuary, saying, "Please do not hesitate to keep my brother company on his final journey so that he does not feel lonely."
