Abracadabra! Magicians Unite at the Annual Millennium Magic Festival in L.A.

Published January 21, 2025

Magicians from the renowned Magic Castle in Hollywood are stepping out to entertain the public at the annual Millennium Magic festival.

This exciting weekend event is scheduled from Friday, January 24, to Sunday, January 26, at Theatre West in Los Angeles. Each day will feature four talented magicians showcasing a diverse range of performances, including illusions, comedy magic, card tricks, and mind reading.

George Tovar, a professional magician, and founding member of the festival, explained, "Each day presents a completely different show, making it enjoyable for everyone from kids to adults." Tovar is not just a festival organizer but also a proud member of Theatre West.

While many performing magicians often appear at various venues, being able to see such a variety of skilled performers in one place is a unique opportunity that normally requires an invitation to the exclusive Magic Castle. Tovar created the festival to allow the public to witness the amazing talents of Magic Castle members. In addition, the event serves as a fundraiser for Theatre West, which has a rich history dating back to 1962, with notable alumni including actors like Beau Bridges, Richard Dreyfuss, Sally Field, and Martin Landau.

Magical Performers Waiting to Amaze

Tovar shared that he reached out to fellow Magic Castle members to contribute their performances over the three days as part of the fundraising effort for Theatre West.

Some of the festival's featured performers include Charlie Mount, who will bring his comedy magic to the stage on Friday. On Saturday, guests can look forward to seeing Chris Hart, a magician and actor known for portraying Thing, the iconic disembodied hand, in the Addams Family films.

“In his act, he incorporates illusions with his world-famous hand,” Tovar noted. This clever approach is sure to entertain the audience. On Sunday, attendees can experience the acts of illusionist Alexander the Great, who is known for classic magic tricks such as making people float and the illusion of cutting them in half.

“It’s absolutely going to be top-notch magic,” Tovar added enthusiastically.
