South Korean Singer Wheesung Passes Away at 43
South Korean singer Wheesung has sadly passed away at the age of 43.
On March 11, his agency announced that Wheesung was found dead at his home in Seoul. The agency, Tajoy Entertainment, confirmed the news and stated, "Wheesung has left us." He was discovered in cardiac arrest and was later pronounced dead.
Currently, the cause of death is not known.
Wheesung was famous for his hit song from 2002 titled "Can't You." He had been facing mental health struggles, including depression, panic disorder, and insomnia. Reports suggest that he had previously used anesthetics, such as propofol and etomidate.
His agency also communicated with YTN, which is affiliated with CNN, confirming the details of his passing. Wheesung's death adds to a troubling trend of losses in the South Korean entertainment scene, with notable figures like actress Kim Sae-ron and model Song Jae-lim having died in previous months.
Wheesung was scheduled to perform alongside fellow artist KCM on Saturday shortly before his death. In what appeared to be his last Instagram post, he shared a black-and-white image of a flower, which quickly garnered thousands of likes and numerous comments from fans.
