Bruno Mars Responds to $50 Million Gambling Debt Rumors
Bruno Mars has recently joked about the strange rumor that he owes $50 million in gambling debt. This comes after his exciting return to music last week, which surprised many fans.
The 39-year-old musician released a new song titled Fat, Juicy and Wet featuring Sexyy Red, 26, marking a significant change from his previous work during the Grenade era.
His new track quickly gained popularity, with over 10 million streams on Spotify, making Bruno the first artist to achieve more than 150 million monthly listeners on the platform.
In light of this success, Bruno playfully urged his fans on social media to continue streaming his music, humorously stating, “I’ll be out of debt in no time,” referring to the unfounded rumors about his supposed gambling issues.
The $50 million debt rumor reportedly originated in March 2024 when an insider claimed that Mars owed this amount to MGM Resorts International as a result of his gambling.
This insider mentioned that while Bruno makes around $90 million yearly through his deal with the casino, he is also responsible for repaying his debts after taxes.
Bruno has been performing at the Dolby Live theater at Park MGM in Las Vegas since 2016, and some fans speculated that his ongoing performances were due to this alleged debt, especially since he hasn’t toured since 2018.
However, an MGM spokesperson later denied these claims, asserting that Bruno does not have a $50 million gambling tab with them, expressing pride in their ongoing relationship with the star.
Despite the rumors, Bruno has taken the speculation lightly, sharing a humorous video on Instagram about Lady Gaga supposedly coming to his rescue to help him get out of debt.
In response to the debt rumors, MGM reiterated their positive partnership with Bruno Mars and clarified that he has no outstanding debts with them.
Bruno’s recent releases, including his collaboration with Sexyy Red, have reinvigorated his career. His latest song has surprised fans with its bold lyrics, contrasting sharply with his more romantic hits like Marry You and Just the Way You Are.
Although fans are amazed by the shift in his musical style, his playful and cheeky personality reflects in his songs like The Lazy Song and the iconic Uptown Funk, showcasing that there’s always more to Bruno Mars beyond just love ballads.
