Brianna Chickenfry Claims She Was ‘Emotionally Abused’ by Zach Bryan, Refuses NDA Money

Published November 8, 2024

Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia, a social media personality, has made serious allegations against her ex-boyfriend, country singer Zach Bryan, claiming that he was emotionally abusive during their relationship.

In an Instagram teaser for her podcast "BFFs", LaPaglia shared her thoughts, stating, "It’s not just for me, it’s for anyone else who’s been emotionally abused. It’s for people who don’t have a support system like I was lucky enough to have." This podcast episode features her discussing her feelings about her recent breakup with Bryan, which took place in October.

LaPaglia expressed that the past year has been extremely challenging and not as happy as others might have assumed. She revealed, "The last year of my life has been the hardest year dealing with the abuse from this dude. I’m still scared of him; my brain’s rewired. I’m scared to make him mad."

She mentioned that she had hesitated to speak openly about their relationship due to fear of backlash and intimidation. LaPaglia claimed that Bryan had offered her money to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), which she chose to reject. She stated, "I still said f— your money. You made the women before me believe they had no other choice. To take money from you, to sign their experiences away, that’s not something I can do."

While she didn’t elaborate extensively on the NDA, LaPaglia expressed concerns about future regrets should she accept it. She stated, "I don’t want to look back and think, 'This is the money from the dude that literally f—ing destroyed me.'"

LaPaglia emphasized that her role as a podcaster did not influence her decision. "This isn’t a drama thing for me. I’m not exposing secrets. I’m not signing away my experiences to protect someone who hurt me. I’m stronger than that," she asserted.

Last week, LaPaglia took a break from her podcast to focus on her mental health following the breakup. In a social media post, she explained, "I’m having a hard time figuring out how to handle this publicly due to all the backlash. I am going to put my mental health first this week."

Following her breakup with Bryan, LaPaglia, along with her podcast co-hosts, was blocked by him on social media. They have been publicly supportive of her during this tumultuous time. In early October, Bryan announced their split, stating on Instagram, "Brianna and me have broken up with each other, and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart." LaPaglia shared that she felt blindsided by the breakup and would be stepping back from social media to heal privately.
