Dua Lipa Cancels Jakarta Concert Due to Safety Concerns
Fans in Indonesia were excited for Dua Lipa's concert, but unfortunately, it has been announced that her performance in Jakarta, scheduled for November 9, has been cancelled.
In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), Dua Lipa expressed her disappointment, stating that she was ready to perform but could not go on due to safety issues regarding the staging. She wrote, "I am here in your amazing country and ready to perform. But I am gutted to share that it has been determined that it is not safe for the performance to carry on due to safety issues with the staging. I was so looking forward to this night, and it truly pains me that we cannot perform for you all, especially after such a long time since my last performance in Jakarta."
The concert organizers provided further details about this difficult decision on their website. They explained that despite the artist's readiness and the team's efforts to tackle significant production issues linked to the stage, safety was the top priority. Their statement said, "This very difficult decision to cancel was made with the utmost care and consideration for the safety of both the audiences and artist."
For those who purchased tickets, all holders are entitled to a refund. Refund requests will be accepted from November 11 until November 30. Fans need to submit their requests through formal channels, which will be communicated via email based on their ticket purchase details.
As of now, a new date for the concert has not been announced, but fans remain hopeful that Dua Lipa will return to Jakarta before her upcoming Radical Optimism Tour in 2025.
