Taylor Swift Gave Out $197 Million in Bonuses to Her ‘Eras Tour’ Staff and Crew Over 2 Years
Taylor Swift showed her appreciation for her Eras Tour staff in a truly generous manner.
Over the past two years, Swift has distributed a remarkable $197 million in bonuses to her tour crew. This generous gesture included various team members such as truck drivers, caterers, instrument technicians, merchandise teams, lighting and sound professionals, production staff, assistants, carpenters, dancers, the band, security personnel, choreographers, pyrotechnicians, riggers, hair and makeup teams, wardrobe specialists, physical therapists, and the video crew.
Swift started her much-anticipated tour in March 2023. After completing the North American leg in August, it was revealed that she surprised her truck drivers with an extraordinary $100,000 bonus. In total, she reportedly allocated around $5 million for bonuses just for the roughly 50 drivers in her touring crew.
After a short break, Swift took her shows internationally, performing across South America, Asia, Europe, and the U.K. during late 2023 and into the summer. She then returned to North America for additional shows before heading to Canada.
The Eras Tour has made history, becoming the highest-grossing tour of all time. Recent reports stated that its ticket sales reached an astounding $2 billion, which is double the gross ticket sales of any previous concert tour.
Success Beyond the Stage
Alongside the tour's immense profits, Swift also thrived in other ventures. After completing the first leg of the tour, she released the Eras Tour concert film, which premiered in theaters and subsequently became available on Disney+. Additionally, Swift launched her album The Tortured Poets Department before embarking on her European leg. Recently, she published a photo book that encapsulates moments from the tour, which has nearly sold a million copies since hitting the shelves at Target.
On December 8, after nearly two years of performances, Swift closed the Eras Tour with a farewell show in Vancouver. During this event, she expressed gratitude to her fans for being part of "the most thrilling chapter of my life to date — my beloved Eras Tour."
Future Plans
Looking forward, a source disclosed that Swift plans to take a break before starting work on a new album. This individual also mentioned that she might consider returning to the road for another tour in 2026.
