Classical Music Showcases in Chico and Paradise
For those who cherish classical tunes, the cities of Chico and Paradise are hosting two delightful concerts that promise to enchant their audiences.
Paradise Symphony's Global Melodies
The Paradise Symphony Orchestra proudly presents 'Around the World in 80 Minutes', an eclectic musical journey slated for 3 p.m., March 10. This event will take you on a sonic voyage across various countries from the comfort of your seat, featuring the energizing rhythm of Spanish flamenco and the opulent echoes of India's royal past. Additionally, the performance includes 'Crown Imperial', a majestic piece that resounded during the coronation of King Charles III.
The concert is set to take place at The Paradise Performing Arts Center, located at 777 Nunnely Road. Adults can obtain tickets for $15, while children aged 12 and below can attend for free. Those interested can procure tickets at the venue on the day of the concert. For more information, one might consider visiting the orchestra's website.
Butte Baroque's Historical Harmony
On March 16, at 1 p.m., a fresh ensemble known as Butte Baroque will grace Chico with its premiere performance. Under the direction of Jeffrey Cooper, an accomplished musician with a rich educational background in organ studies, the group will indulge the audience with a repertoire from the 17th and 18th centuries, blending in works from illustrious composers like Bach, Vivaldi, and Buxtehude, alongside the 20th-century compositions of Walter Piston. The concert features an array of instruments, including the harpsichord, pipe organ, oboe, and strings.
The ensemble's leader Cooper is particularly thrilled to juxtapose neo-Baroque pieces by modern composers with the revered classics of the Baroque era. Tickets are obtainable online or via email, and the musical gathering will occur at John the Baptist Catholic Church, sited at 435 Chestnut St. in Chico.
