We have received some heartbreaking news from the music community.

DJ Unk, born Anthony Leonard Platt, has died at the young age of 43.

The announcement of the rapper's death was made by his wife, Sherkita Long-Platt.

On Facebook, Sherkita shared her grief, stating, "Please respect me and my family. I just lost my husband and my kids just lost their father. Our life will never be the same. I LOVE YOU ANTHONY FOREVER."

While the exact cause of death has not been disclosed, the hip hop legend battled various health concerns over the years.

In a past interview with XXL magazine, Platt acknowledged that he faced medical issues due to unhealthy eating and neglecting his health. He stated, "I had some medical issues going on from not eating the right food and that just come from when I stopped taking care of myself. I got to get healthy not just for my sake, but also for my kids and for my wife.”

He also shared insights about his busy lifestyle, admitting that constant traveling and stress contributed to his health struggles.

At this moment, it remains uncertain if these health issues were linked to his untimely death.
