Published December 13, 2024

Amazing news has emerged 15 years after the passing of the legendary Michael Jackson. A man named Gregg Musgrove recently found unreleased songs from the King of Pop while going through a storage unit. This remarkable discovery happened in Van Nuys, California, and it has given fans hope for new music from their idol.

The storage unit, previously owned by music producer and singer Bryan Loren, contained various tapes that Musgrove unearthed. In total, he found 12 unreleased tracks that Michael Jackson recorded between 1989 and 1991, just before working on his iconic album, Dangerous.

Among the hidden gems is a song titled "Don’t Believe It" and another named "Seven Digits." Jackson described "Seven Digits" as being connected to the numbers of a body in a morgue. Additionally, there is a track called "Truth on Youth," which features an exciting rap duet between Jackson and the well-known rapper LL Cool J. Musgrove expressed his excitement upon discovering the tapes, sharing that listening to them gave him goosebumps.

Fan Reactions and Future of the Tapes

Musgrove states that he explored numerous fan sites, as many of the songs were rumored to exist and some have circulated in leaked form. However, he noted that a few tracks remain unheard by the public, heightening the thrill of the discovery. He recounted how incredible it was to hear Jackson’s voice, joking and interacting in the recordings.

Despite this exciting find, anyone hoping to hear these songs soon may be disappointed. Musgrove mentioned that he approached the Jackson Estate to discuss purchasing the tapes, but they declined. They sent him a letter stating that while they maintain ownership of the copyrights for the recordings and compositions, they do not wish to acquire the physical tapes.

Valuable Tapes and Potential Future Auction

The tapes are currently secured in a safe facility under the control of Musgrove's attorney, but their financial worth remains uncertain. Musgrove has indicated that they might be valued in the seven-digit range. He is considering auctioning the recordings in the future, hoping to find a buyer willing to cherish these unique pieces of music history.

Since Michael Jackson’s death in 2009, several posthumous albums have been released, including the popular singles "This Is It" and "Love Never Felt So Good" featuring Justin Timberlake. In 2010, Sony released his first posthumous album titled Michael, which featured the single "Hold My Hand" with Akon. In 2012, another album called Xscape was released, showcasing additional unreleased tracks by the pop icon.
