Long Beach’s Sublime, Alanis Morissette, Lenny Kravitz Headline 6th BeachLife Festival
The BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach is set to return for its sixth year, featuring an impressive lineup of performers, including rock legends Lenny Kravitz and Alanis Morissette, along with the iconic Long Beach reggae band Sublime. The event will take place over three days, from May 2 to 4, and promises to be an exciting celebration of music and culture.
Festival Highlights
On January 7, the festival organizers announced the lineup which showcases nearly 40 acts across multiple stages. Alongside Kravitz and Morissette, fans can look forward to performances by notable artists like Jackson Browne and The Beach Boys. The festival is not just about music; it will also include art exhibitions, gourmet food options, and various activities.
Daily Schedule
Lenny Kravitz will kick off the festival on Friday, May 2, sharing the stage with bands like Train and O.A.R. The following day, May 3, Sublime will take the spotlight, with legendary groups Pretenders and Cake also performing. The festival will conclude on Sunday, May 4, when Alanis Morissette headlines the final day, celebrating the anniversary of her iconic album “Jagged Little Pill.” This day will also feature performances from Mt. Joy, Jackson Browne, and Hawthorne's own The Beach Boys.
Punk Rock Representation
The festival will honor the punk rock roots of Long Beach and the South Bay. On May 3, alongside Sublime, an acoustic performance by Greg Graffin of Bad Religion will take place. The day prior will include solo acoustic sets from punk figures Jim Lindberg of Pennywise and Milo Aukerman of the Descendents. BeachLife’s founder, Allen Sanford, mentioned that they aimed to create a family-friendly punk rock experience through acoustic performances at the SpeakEasy Stage.
Past Festivals and Future Prospects
The BeachLife Festival began in 2019, featuring stars like Willie Nelson, Bob Weir, and Brian Wilson. Each year, the festival attracts around 10,000 attendees daily. Previous performers have included many well-known names such as Sting, Gwen Stefani, and The Black Keys. Last year’s event faced challenges with unexpected high winds, but the festival's organizers took steps to ensure a positive experience.
This year, the festival will return to Seaside Lagoon and will introduce the California Surf Club, a new venue expected to open in February. This member-only club will feature a restaurant, bar, and exclusive areas for VIP attendees. The festival will continue to support various charities and feature diverse dining options, including vegan and gluten-free meals.
Tickets for the festival are available now, including both single-day and three-day passes. To find out more, visit the festival's official website.
