Harvey Weinstein Reacts to Adrien Brody Referencing His Kids in Oscars Speech

Published March 4, 2025

Harvey Weinstein has responded to Adrien Brody mentioning his children with ex-wife Georgina Chapman during Brody's acceptance speech at the 2025 Oscars.

In a statement, Weinstein's representative Juda Engelmayer said, "Harvey is happy for Georgina and grateful that his kids are being loved and cared for as they deserve to be."

Weinstein and Chapman were married in 2007 and have two children: daughter India, who is 14 years old, and son Dashiell, who is 11. Following accusations of sexual assault against Weinstein in 2017, Chapman filed for divorce. Although they reached a settlement in 2018, their divorce was only finalized in 2021. In February 2020, Weinstein was convicted on charges of rape and sexual assault and is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence at Rikers Island.

Since 2019, Chapman has been dating Brody, who is 51, and their relationship appears to be going well. Brody brought Chapman with him as his date for the 2025 Oscars, where he was nominated for Best Actor. He ultimately won the award, surpassing other nominees including Timothée Chalamet, Colman Domingo, Ralph Fiennes, and Sebastian Stan.

Before taking the stage, Brody and Chapman shared a kiss in the audience, and he even tossed her his gum, which she caught as he made his way to the podium. In his acceptance speech, Brody expressed gratitude to those who supported him, including Chapman and her children.

Brody started his speech by saying, "If I may just humbly begin to give thanks to the tremendous love I have felt from this world and every individual who treated me with respect and appreciation. I feel so fortunate. Acting is a very fragile profession. It looks very glorious—and in certain moments it is."

He further elaborated on his appreciation for Chapman and her children, sharing a special nickname that the kids have for him.

"I share this with my amazing partner, Georgina, who has not only reinvigorated my own self-worth but my sense of value and my values," Brody enthused. "And her beautiful children, Dash and India, I know it’s been a roller coaster but thank you for accepting me into your life. And Popsy’s coming home a winner."

Chapman has been a strong supporter of Brody throughout the awards season. A source previously revealed that the couple feels very happy and secure in their relationship, stating, "She loves supporting him at awards shows. She’s so proud of his talent; his humor and talent were what drew her to him."
