The Recording Academy has revealed the list of honorees for its prestigious Special Merit Awards Ceremony, which will take place during the highly anticipated Grammys week. Renowned artists such as Gladys Knight, N.W.A, and Donna Summer, along with other notable figures in music, are set to be recognized for their enduring contributions to the industry.

Stars Align for Lifetime Achievement Awards

Gladys Knight and the groundbreaking rap group N.W.A are among the icons being awarded Lifetime Achievement Awards. Joining them will be the late disco queen Donna Summer, innovative performance artist Laurie Anderson, gospel legends the Clark Sisters, and country music star Tammy Wynette. These accolades will be bestowed upon the artists at the Wilshire Ebel Theatre in Los Angeles on February 3.

Additional Honors and Awards

Aside from the Lifetime Achievement Awards, the Recording Academy has also announced the Trustees Award recipients to include Peter Asher, DJ Kool Herc, and Joel Katz. Moreover, Tom Kobayashi and Tom Scott will be honored with Technical Grammy awards. The song "Refugee," penned by K'naan, Steve McEwan, and Gerald Eaton, is set to receive the Best Song for Social Change Award.
