Ozzy Osbourne Makes Limited Return to the Stage at 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

Ozzy Osbourne's long-held wish to return to the stage has come true, though in a limited capacity. On October 19, 2023, at the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Ozzy proudly participated as artists paid tribute to him, rather than performing a full set himself.

This ceremony marked another important milestone for Ozzy, as he is already inducted for his work with Black Sabbath. However, this occasion celebrated his solo achievements, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd.

During the tribute performance, which can be watched here, renowned artists came together to honor Ozzy. Tool's Maynard James Keenan played a powerful rendition of "Crazy Train," joined by Wolfgang Van Halen on guitar, Chad Smith on drums, Robert Trujillo on bass, Andrew Watt on rhythm guitar, and Adam Wakeman on keyboards. Jelly Roll and Zakk Wylde collaborated for a heartfelt first performance of "Mama, I’m Coming Home," and Zakk Wylde concluded the segment with a solo of "No More Tears." Throughout, Ozzy was seen singing along from the sidelines.

In his speech during the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Ozzy expressed his gratitude to everyone who made this honor possible. His heartfelt words included, "F*cking love you guys. Well, here we are. You know what? I can’t believe I’m here myself. Let me get the thank yous out of the way, because I’m not going to bore you with a long, drawn out f*cking monologue. I’d like to thank whoever voted me into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for my solo work. A great thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."

Ozzy went on to acknowledge his loyal fans and the stellar musicians he has collaborated with over the years, noting the significant impact of guitar legend Randy Rhoads on his life and career. He also highlighted the support of his wife, Sharon, saying she saved his life, and expressed his love for his family.
