Doechii Followed Her Best Rap Album Win With An Electrifying 2025 Grammy Performance

Published February 3, 2025

In 2024, Doechii rose from being relatively unknown to a Grammy nominee and a Billboard chart success with her debut mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal. After her impressive achievements over the year, she was selected to perform at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, showcasing her signature imaginative style with a fantastic performance of her songs, "Catfish" and "Denial Is A River."

The performance featured a creative theme centered around a "clone factory," and included her distinctive airboat, combined with elaborate choreography that Doechii is known for. This performance was part of a medley that included other Best New Artist nominees, following Benson Boone and before Teddy Swims.

Apart from her performance, Doechii was nominated for four awards that evening, which included Best New Artist (which she won), Best Remixed Recording for "Alter Ego Kaytranada Remix" along with JT and Kaytranada, Best Rap Performance for "Nissan Altima," and Best Rap Album. While Sabrina Carpenter won Best Remixed Recording for "Espresso Mark Ronson x FNZ Working Late Remix" and Kendrick Lamar took home an award for "Not Like Us," Doechii secured victories for both Best New Artist and Best Rap Album.
