K-pop Sensations NewJeans and Stray Kids Shine at Billboard Music Awards

Published November 20, 2023

At the grand 2023 Billboard Music Awards, two of South Korea's most celebrated music groups, NewJeans and Stray Kids, delivered electrifying performances and secured prestigious awards. The ceremony, which took place on a Sunday, was streamed online, making it accessible through Billboard's social media outlets and the official BBMAs website.

NewJeans' Enchanting Performances and Big Win

NewJeans captivated the audience with renditions of their tracks "Super Shy" and "OMG." They started the night dressed in charming school uniform-inspired outfits while presenting "Super Shy," then switched settings to perform "OMG" against a dreamy, cloud-adorned backdrop. These tracks are drawn from NewJeans' EP Get Up and their single album titled "OMG."

Notably, NewJeans snagged the Top Global K-pop Artist award, outshining competitors such as Stray Kids, Tomorrow X Together, and Twice, securing their mark in the global music landscape.

Stray Kids' Dynamic Showcase and Album Triumph

Stray Kids took the stage with their own dynamic flair, performing "S-Class" from their album 5-Star and the vigorous "LaLaLaLa" off their latest EP Rock-Star. Their hard work and talent were validated as they won Top K-pop Album for 5-Star, which debuted earlier in June.

The event celebrated a variety of artists across genres, with other notable winners including big names like Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, Nicki Minaj, Blackpink, Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, and Bad Bunny.
